Rosario Story:
A message from Terry and Alison: The stories below are real. They were written by girls that we work with at one of our orphanages and are anonymous to protect their identities. Please exercise caution when reading them as some parts get violent or graphic. These authors are real examples of strength and courage. We respect and love them very much.
Anonymous:
My name is Anonymous. I was born on August 15, 1988. My father’s name is Perdo and my mother’s name is Rosa. I have two siblings their names are Jimena and Joel.
I remember when my family was not very happy, they were always fighting. I also remember that my father died when I was hardly five years old, a consequence of his drinking. He had a stroke and we were left with my mother, and we went to live in a village called Chilca. She gave us everything that she had but it was not enough and possibly that is why she brought me and my brothers here to the Aldea Orphanage.
I came to the Orphanage when I was six years old. The first day I was not used to it but little by little I became accustomed. After a little while, my mother went to work in the jungle. She stopped seeing us for a good amount of time and as a consequence of this, my brothers were adopted. I didn’t know about this because I started to go to school. When I found out I was very sad. But I got used to it. A little while afterwards, my mother came and found out what happened and started crying. I then found out that my mother had remarried. With her new husband, she had three children.
My mother still visits me and my biggest dream is to be a good professional in order to help my mother and find my brothers.
I am now 17 years old and I would like to study the careers of my dreams which are to be an accountant, tour guide, or nurse. I know that I have to leave the Orphanage which makes me sad and worries me.
I hope you enjoy this little
story. Thank you.
